Hop hop hop...

Yep, she's got extra legs for a bit. Xrays didn't show any breaks - outpatients doc says it's "probably the tendon" ... OP doc was in a rush, so I'm taking her to our family doc today to get more specific information.

Would you believe that she managed to slam her foot into her friend's knee at just the right angle & time? I guess they were "jumping & skipping and stuff" and Cindy swung her foot forward and up at the same time as her friend bent her leg at the knee and the top of Cindy's foot connected solid with the other girl's knee cap. Smash. A 13 year old boy from out neighbourhood carried a screeching & crying child into my kitchen (she was up the road at her friend's when this happened) and I figured 'uh oh' because the way she sounded and the way she was holding it, I was almost sure she'd broken something - this is not a child who'd do well being told that she can't swim or play in sprinklers for six weeks because of a cast. It's not though - but the OP doc was so rushed she didn't give us information beyond 'tendon' and 'ice' ... Hopefully our family doc can be more specific...Right now, it doesn't hurt her when it's just "there" , it mostly just hurts when she tries to put weight down on it or when someone/somethng touches the top of her foot....but it doesn't hurt to hop or have it hanging there when she's swinging around on those metal things..

She'll be swinging and hopping around a farm later, as we're meant to accompany Christopher & his itinerant to his EA's place to see all of the horses and chickens and bunnies and other critters that they have and no way will she skip this - there's animals there! *grin*

Meanwhile... hey Norm, got a picture for ya! ;-)

Ouch! I can feel the pain just reading about it. Here's hoping she has a quick recovery!

We saw the family doc today and he says not to worry, that it's a bruised tendon, not torn or such, and that it will start feeling better fairly quickly and she shouldn't need the crutches for very long (this happened Monday) ...she was actually putting some weight on it this afternoon at the funny farm, using just one crutch, and limping around tonight - right now - without them...but that in turn makes it MORE sore. :-P

She's lucky though, it could have been a lot worse - there's not a lot of 'padding' in a foot!

Thanks, all ya - from Miss Cinders and I both. <3
